According to a statement by NDS, the group was looking to carry out the attack in Jalalabad city, the quiet provincial capital of Nangarhar province. The statement further added that 3 rifles including 2 Ak-47s, 2 pistols, 1 Improvised Explosive Device, 1 remote control, and 2 hand grenades were confiscated by the intelligence operatives which the Lions of Islam were looking to use for the attack.
