Germany blasts NATO for 'warmongering' that risks reviving 'an old confrontation'
[EXPRESS.CO.UK] Frank-Walter Steinmeier claims NATO's...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. It's headquartered in Belgium. That sez it all.... Anaconda drills, which he claims are used to counter "Russian aggression", are counterproductive to security within Europe. Betcha he wasn't fond of Pershing missiles back in the day, either. He claims the "warmongering" could inflame the standoff with Russia and alliance troops hold instead "renew discussions about the benefits of disarmament and arms control for security in Europe." So we know which side he's on. But Moscow has pointed out it has no plans to reignite a tense standoff with the West in the future.
