Prices soar in blockaded Aleppo as regime tightens siege
[EN.ZAMANALWSL.NET] As attention is drawn to the ongoing battles north of Aleppo city which opposition factions promised to break the blockade enforced on the eastern part of the city for the fourth day in a row, the Control and Inspection Office subordinate to Aleppo Local Council launched a campaign on the monopolists and traders in the city, according to the council official Facebook page.

The council released two days ago a price list and promised violator of the list interrogation and confiscation of products, but local sources confirmed the prices had a rocket increase amid monopoly and storing of products by traders.

The Control and Inspection Office said they confiscated 26 Diesel barrels stored illegally in one of the warehouses in the city and it was recorded. The barrels will be sold to hospitals and bakeries in the liberated part of the city according to the official pricing released by the council, according to the council’s statement.

The photos published of field tours show the office implementation of the pricing list on traders to prevent monopoly under pretext of blockade on the eastern side of Aleppo city where half a million civilians live amid regime and Russian bombings and deprivation of basic products from the market or rocket prices of these products.
