 Iraqi reinforcements arrive in eastern Ramadi (IraqiNews.com) Anbar – Head of Khalidiya District Council, Ali Dawood, in a statement issued to the press has said that military reinforcements from Baghdad have arrived in eastern Ramadi and are all set to close in on Khalidiya island and press for the island’s liberation from ISIS control. “Military reinforcements including army troops, Federal Police, Shields regiments and tanks have arrived at Khalidiya, 20 km in eastern Ramadi. Supported by international coalition, the reinforcements will storm into the island in the next few hours,” Dawood added in the statement. “Apart from evacuating the civilians to safer places, the military reinforcements also intend to raise the Iraqi flag at one of the government buildings of the island,” Dawood concluded.
