Somali president meets with U.S. military officials
The president of the federal republic of Somalia Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has today met with top U.S. military experts at a secret base in Lower Shabelle region, reports said.In the closed-door meeting, Somali president and U.S. military officials discussed on a range of issues related to the fight against Al Shabaab, and training Somali commandos units. Both sides have agreed to boost the war on Al Shabaab as Somalia is preparing to hold general elections later this year. Unites States military is helping African Union mission in Somalia (AMISOM) and Somali federal government in the fight against Al Qaeda-linked Al Shabaab militants.
