3 die in bomb attack at checkpoint in al-Shoala

(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – A suicide attack on a security checkpoint northwest of Baghdad on Wednesday killed at least three persons and injuring several others. The number of casualties is however expected to increase.

As per information available with Iraqi News, it can be said that a suicide bomber wearing an explosive belt blew up himself today morning near a checkpoint in al-Shoala northwest of Baghdad.

Apart from killing three persons, eight others were severely injured in the blast and this also included three members of the Federal Police.”

An source, seeking anonymity, said, “Ambulances rushed to the blast area and carried the wounded to a nearby hospital. The dead bodies were carried to the forensic department.”

As per information available with Iraqi News, it can be said that security forces have cordoned off the area.

(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – Baghdad Operations Command announced that the suicide bomber who attacked al-Shoala in Baghdad, detonated himself after being besieged by the security forces.

Baghdad Operations spokesman Brigadier General Saad Moen, in a press statement, said, “A suicide bomber was intending to attack one of the popular markets at al-Shoala in northwest of Baghdad, but he was monitored by the Federal Police forces and the National Security service.”

Moen added, “The suicide bomber blew up himself after being besieged and shot by the security forces.”

Iraqi kops detain two bombing suspects in al-Hora

(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – Baghdad Operations Command announced on Tuesday that two terrorists were wearing suicide vests were killed towards north of the the city.

Baghdad Operations spokesman, Brigadier General Saad Maan, in a statement said, “Iraqi forces killed two terrorists wearing suicide vests in al-Hora area, north of Baghdad.”

It may be mentioned here that Baghdad is witnessing terrorist attacks of different forms that include use of car bombs and explosive belts; apart from sporadic attacks targeting civilians and security forces at different areas.

2 die in vegetable market bomb attack

(IraqiNews.com) BAGHDAD – A source in the Ministry of Interior informed on Wednesday a bomb blast in a market south of Baghdad killed two civilians and injured seven others.

“The bomb exploded today morning near a fruit and vegetable market,” the source further informed.

The police adopted strict measures around the bomb sites. Ambulances carried the injured to a nearby hospital.

5 kidz die in mortar attack on refugee camp in al-Saidiya

(IraqiNews.com) BAGHDAD – A police source informed on Wednesday that five children were killed when mortar shells were targeted at a camp for displaced people south of Baghdad.

Sharing details, the source said, “Two mortar shells were targeted this evening at a camp for displaced people in Saidiya. Five children were killed in the attack.”

Adding further the source informed, “Ambulances transported the bodies of the dead to the forensic department and have initiated a probe into the incident.”

(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – A source in the Ministry of Interior reported 11 casualties due to two mortar attacks on IDP camps in southern Baghdad.

According to information shared by the source, it was stated, “Two mortar shells fell on the displaced persons’ camp at al-Saidiya, in southern Baghdad, killing two persons and wounding nine others.”

The source said, “The security forces transferred the wounded to a nearby hospital and the dead bodies to the forensic department.”
