Explosion in Kabul leaves 5 policemen dead
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] At least five coppers bit the dust in an kaboom in the outskirts of Kabul...the capital of Afghanistan. Home to continuous fighting from 1992 to 1996 between the forces of would-be strongman and Pak ISI/Jamaat-e-Islami sock puppet Gulbuddin Hekmayar and the Northern Alliance, a period which won Hek the title Most Evil Man in the Worldand didn't do much for the reputations of the Northern Alliance guys either.... province late on Friday, local officials in Pashtun-infested Logar province said Saturday. Provincial governor’s front man Salim Saleh said a commander of the Public Order Police Forces lost his life along with 4 coppers in Khak Jabar district. He said Gen. Abdul Satar Hashemi was killed on Friday evening as he was on his way from Pashtun-infested Logar to Kabul and his vehicle was hit by an Improvised Explosive Device. Saleh further added that Gen. Hashemi was serving as the commander of the 5th brigade of the Public Order Police Forces. No group including the Talibs has so far grabbed credit behind the incident. According to reports, at least six civilians including a woman were killed in a similar incident on Azra-Khak-e-Jabar highway around four days ago. Taliban Death Eaters and snuffies belonging to the other myrmidon groups frequently use Improvised Explosive Device (IED) as the weapon of their choice to target the security forces but the ordinary civilians are often targeted in such attacks.
