Police official gunned down in Sehwan
HYDERABAD: An assistant sub-inspector was gunned down in Khosa Mohallah of Sehwan, while an unidentified pedestrian was injured in the incident which took place near the Sehwan police station late Monday night, police said.The deceased was identified as Niaz Panwhar. Jamshoro Tariq Vilayat, a senior superintendent of police (SSP), confirmed that the victim, along with a police constable were headed somewhere in the area when four criminals got a hold of him and shot at him. He died instantly. "The constable accompanying Panwhar was at some distance when the incident occurred," Vilayat said, adding that four suspects have been taken into custody. Vilayat linked the murder to police action taken against criminals some time ago. He declined to elaborate, saying it would compromise the investigation. Panhwar was patrolling when he was gunned down. His body has been shifted to Sehwan Taluka Hospital for post-mortem.
