Explosion in Herat leaves 4 dead, 9 others wounded
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] At least five people were killed in an kaboom in western Herat...a venerable old Persian-speaking city in western Afghanistan, populated mostly by Tadjiks, which is why it's not as blood-soaked as areas controlled by Pashtuns... province of Afghanistan this afternoon, local government officials said. Provincial governor’s front man Jilani Farhad said the incident took place in Shindand district Bazaar, leaving at least two soldiers and three civilians dead. He said the incident took place after a cycle of violence packed with explosives exploded close to a security post. No group including the Talibs has so far grabbed credit behind the incident. Taliban forces of Evil are active in a number of remote districts of Herat province including Shindand which often witnesses violence. This comes as at least three Afghan soldiers and two civilians were maimed in an kaboom in Herat city earlier this month.
