US-trained commandos capture Shaboob bomb expert in Galkayo
US-trained Somali commandos, Danab (Lightning), have captured five Al Shabaab militants including a Sudanese explosive expert in central Galkayo city, Garowe Online reports.Somali security officials have confirmed the operation carried out by Danab, five days after Puntland refuted reports disclosing commando troopers on ant-terrorism mission. On August 6, Galkayo Airport General Manager, Saed Abdirahman Yusuf (Dhagaweyne), said, they were firmly in charge of airport security. Somali National Army (SNA) Commander, Ali Bashe Mohamed, told state-run station, Radio Mogadishu that the five were nabbed in anti-terror raid. He did not specify where the five were captured, but insisted that they were tipped off on the cell. It is yet unclear where the seized Al Shabaab members are being held.
