Karachi: Crackdown against illegal offices of MQM, buildings demolished

From 1992 to 1999, the MQM was the target of the Pak Army's Operation Cleanup leaving thousands of urdu speaking civilians dead... ’s (MQM) chief’s portraits were removed from many places whereas MQM’s illegal offices were closed and demolished on Thursday, reported Dunya News. MQM’s offices in Bhains Colony, Gulshan Maymar, Mosamyat, Sachal, Sukhan, Malik aur Ahsanabad were demolished, as they were set up illegally. In Azizabad, name of "Mukka Chowk" was changed to "Liaquat Ali Khan chowk". The photos and posters of MQM chief at Nine Zero and several other places were removed whereas Khursheed Begum Memorial Hall and transport office were also set up illegally.
