Sheriff created Boko Haram, Borno AG insists
[NEWS24.NG] The Attorney General for Borno State, Kaka Lawan, has insisted that Islamist sect Boko Haram... not to be confused with Procol Harum, Harum Scarum, possibly to be confused with Helter Skelter. The Nigerian version of al-Qaeda and the Taliban rolled together and flavored with a smigeon of distinctly Subsaharan ignorance and brutality... was created by factional Chairman of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), Ali Modu Sheriff. According to a Punch report, Lawan explained that insecurity created by Sheriff several years back had morphed into what is known today as Boko Haram, while calling for Sheriff's arrest due to alleged impunity that reigned during the PDP Chair's governorship tenure in Borno State between 2003 and 2011. In addition, Lawan stated that the introduction of the Ministry of Religious Affairs by the Sheriff administration worsened the level of insecurity across the Borno area. According to a blurb by Inuwa Bwala, the media adviser to the factional PDP chairman, Sheriff has already directed his lawyers to write Shehu demanding a retraction of the statement as well as an apology.
