N. Korea Produces More Weapons-Grade Plutonium
 North Korea appears to have obtained more weapons-grade plutonium by reprocessing nuclear fuel from its main reactor in Yongbyon. The U.S. Institute for Science and International Security said Sunday North Korea has managed to produce 5-8 kg of plutonium. That could be used to make two to four nuclear warheads using 2-4kg of plutonium each. The institute said Pyongyang now has enough nuclear material to make between 13 to 21 nuclear warheads. Last week, the International Atomic Energy Agency said that satellite imagery shows North Korea has resumed reprocessing activities, as the regime had announced. Posted by: Steve White 2016-08-26 |
