Spain detains 2 with ISIS links
[ARA News] MADRID – The Spanish authorities have detained two Moroccan men accused of supporting the extremist group of Islamic State (ISIS), officials said on Monday.Spain’s Interior Ministry said in a statement that the arrested suspects have been involved in planning a terror attack on European soil. One of the detainees had planned to join ISIS in Syria. “He travelled to the Syrian border through Turkey to meet a member of the terrorist organisation,” the ministry said. The suspect has been trying to join ISIS training camps in Syria, before returning to Europe to participate in a terror attack. “He was arrested by Turkish police before crossing the border and was returned to Spain once released where he continued efforts to join the militant group,” the Spanish Interior Ministry said.
