Somali Forces Battle Shaboobs near Diinsoor
Somali federal government forces, with the support of African Union troops have launched an offensive against Al shabaab strongholds near Diinsoor district in Baay region on Sunday.A freelance journalist in Diinsoor district, told radio Shabelle via phone that the allied forces razed several Al shabaab bases and seized large cache of weapons, including grenade bombs. The situation in the battled zones has returned to normalcy, with reports that Somali and AMISOM soldiers retreated back to their military bases in Diinsoor town after the operation.
