American Woman to Skip Chess Championship in Iran: 'I Will Not Wear a Hijab'

When the World Chess Federation (WCF) announced the 2017 Women's World Chess Championship would be held in Iran, little did they think - or perhaps even care - that these young women would be forced to wear hijabs while exercising their God-given talent on the world stage. One, however, won't stand for it, and will be skipping the 2017 championship in protest.
Writing on Instagram last week, 22-year-old Nazi Paikidze wrote at length why she refuses to "wear a hijab" to placate Islamic culture."
