Peshmerga and Shiite militia will stay out of Mosul, Kurdish official says

"It does not matter if there is an agreement or not, the Peshmerga is committed to defending the Kurdish inhabited areas in the Nineveh province," Mamuzini said. Mamuzini, who is media officer of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) for Mosul, said that ISIS is also preparing to fight back the coming assault with boom-mobiles and jacket wallahs. "ISIS has also brought in many Lions of Islam to the Bashik front as reinforcement," he explained, referring to the front southeast of Mosul, which briefly fell into ISIS’ hands in late 2014 and was retaken by the Peshmerga a few months later.
