Afghan forces release 50 prisoners from Taliban jail in Ghazni
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] The Afghan National Defense and Security Forces (ANDSF) released at least 50 prisoners from a Taliban jail in southeastern Ghazni province of Afghanistan.According to the local security officials, the prisoners were released during an operation conducted in Geru district of Ghazni. Ghazni police chief General Aminullah Amarkhel confirmed that an operation was conducted on a Taliban prison in Geru district and several prisoners were released. He said the Taliban turbans had kept the civilians on charges of supporting the government and security forces. According to Gen. Amarkhel several weapons and ammunition were also confiscated during the operation but no further details were given regarding the casualties incurred to both sides during the operation.
