13 ISIS loyalists killed in an airstrike in Nangarhar
At least 13 loyalists of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) terrorist group were killed in an airstrike in eastern Nangarhar province of Afghanistan.Local security officials in Nangarhar province said the militants were killed in Pacher Agam district of Nangarhar. The officials did not disclose further information if the airstrike was carried out by the Afghan Air Force or the US forces based in Afghanistan. However, the officials said the local residents did not suffer any casualties in the airstrike. Pacher Agam district is among the volatile areas of Nangarhar province where the anti-government armed militant groups including the Taliban insurgents and ISIS fighters are actively operating. The loyalists of ISIS terrorist group launched a coordianted attack on Pacher Agam district few days back and set several houses on fire during the attack. Both the Afghan forces and the US forces in Afghanistan are conducting regular raids against the Taliban insurgents and ISIS loyalist in the districts where they are conducting insurgency activities. The US forces increased airstrikes against the Taliban insurgents and ISIS loyalists earlier this year after the Obama administration granted a broader role to the American forces.
