Roadside bomb explosions targets AU troops in Mahaday
Deadly roadside bomb blast has ripped through convoy of African Union mission in Somalia (AMISOM) troops travelling in west of Mahaday town in Middle Shabelle region, witness said. Tuesday’s explosion hit the AMISOM armored personnel carrier in Elbaraf area as it was on its way to the camp, a witness told Shabelle Media.The explosion was claimed by Al Shabaab, who are battling with African Union forces and Somalia National Army troops in the war-ravaged country. The group also said that the bomb explosion had burned down of the vehicles carrying the peacekeepers. No word was available from the officials of AMISOM over the attack.
