Yemen loyalists retake parts of eastern Taiz
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Sources from Yemen’s army and resistance forces have confirmed they were able to retake complete control in parts of eastern Taiz.The forces were able to regain control of al-Jehmaliah town and other eastern parts of Taiz city from Houthi ...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The Yemeni government has accused the Houthis of having ties to the Iranian government, which wouldn't suprise most of us. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews... militias and forces loyal to ousted former president President-for-Life Ali Abdullah Saleh. ... Saleh initially took power as a strongman of North Yemen in 1977, when disco was in flower, but he didn't invite Donna Summer to the inauguration and Blondie couldn't make it... Civilian sources also said parts of the Republican Palace neighborhood in the city were liberated after months of siege by militia forces. Key facilities in the areas liberated included a military hospital, an army supplies center, two schools and a cultural center. Recently, Houthi militias have been accused of attacking civilian buildings in Taiz, including places of worship, pictures obtained by Al Arabiya News Channel have shown. Images have revealed how the armed militias violated the sanctity of the Tawhid mosque in Taiz. In details, the mercenaries launched an artillery attack on a residential area and a popular market in Softil neighborhood in Taiz, leaving over 50 locals killed or wounded. The massacre was committed few hours before the announced ceasefire in Yemen comes into effect tonight at 23:59 (Sanaa Time). Yemen has been since March 26, 2015 under brutal aggression by Saudi-led coalition. Thousands have been martyred and injured in the attack, with the vast majority of them are civilians.
