Limbaugh: Obama will create 'unrest' every time Trump acts
[The Hill] Conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh says President Obama will create "unrest and disunity" often after President-elect Donald Trump takes office on Jan. 20.
"Obama is going to call [NBC's] Chuck Todd -- take his pick -- [CNN's] John King, [CNN's] Wolf Blitzer ... and they will not be able to wait," Limbaugh said on his Tuesday program. "They'll give Obama as much time as he wants to rip into Trump and to warn the American people.
"He's going to try to create all kinds of unrest and disunity and so forth."
Obama has said that he would speak out after leaving office if he believes it is warranted.
"As an American citizen who cares deeply about our country, if there are issues that have less to do with the specifics of some legislative proposal or battle, but go to core questions about our values and our ideals, and if I think that it's necessary or helpful for me to defend those ideals, then I'll examine it when it comes," Obama said during a press conference in Peru on Nov. 21.
Traditionally, former presidents have refrained from publicly commenting on their successors' job performance. Obama and Trump have also been publicly civil to each other during the transition despite their stark differences. During a press conference Friday, Obama said the two have had "cordial" talks.
"Obama is going to do it [criticize Trump] from Washington," Limbaugh predicted. "And he's going to do it within hours of whatever Trump does. And he's going to do it on major cable news.
"And the media is going to be 100 -- 1,000 percent behind Obama."
The Obamas plan to live in Washington when his presidency while their younger daughter finishes school.
Limbaugh has been a strong supporter of Trump since the billionaire announced his candidacy in June 2015.
