Al-Nusra commander killed in US airstrike in Syria’s Idlib
 [ARA] A US-led coalition ...formerly al-Nusra, the current false nose and mustache of al-Qaeda in the Levant... in Syria’s northwestern Idlib Governorate, including a senior jihadist. Abu Omar al-Turkistani, a military commander in Jabhat Fateh al-Sham, was reported dead along with three other myrmidons. "The US-led coalition hit al-Turkistani’s convoy in the vicinity of Sarmada town in Idlib Governorate, near the Turkish border. The jihadist leader and three of his guards were killed in the air raid," local media activist Saeed al-Hamwi told ARA News. Also, a member of the Jabhat Fateh al-Sham, who spoke to ARA News on condition of anonymity, confirmed the death of Abu Omar al-Turkistani in the Jahbat Fateh al-Sham was previously known as Jabhat al-Nusra ...formally Jabhat an-Nusrah li-Ahli al-Sham (Support Front for the People of the Levant), also known as al-Qaeda in the Levant. They aim to establish a pan-Arab caliphate. Not the same one as the Islamic State, though .. ... or al-Nusra Front. In July 2016, the myrmidon group announced that it had split from al-Qaeda and was rebranding. However, you can observe a lot just by watching... the US State Department said that group’s holy warriors remained a fair target for US warplanes in Syria despite Nusra’s decision to cut ties with al-Qaeda and change its name to Jabhat Fatah al-Sham. On November 12, he United States amended the designation of Jabhat al-Nusra as a Foreign Terrorist Organization, listing Jabhat Fateh al-Sham (JFS) as a terrorist alias.
