Iraqi officials impose curfew on Sharqat after ISIS artillery attack

Salahuddin (IraqiNews.com) Mayor of Sharqat district, Ali al-Dawdah, announced on Monday, the killing of two children in a mortar shelling carried out by the Islamic State, while pointed out that security forces imposed a curfew in the district due to the attack.

Dawdah said in a press statement, “The Islamic state shelled Sharqat District with mortar shells that fell near a school in Sabkha area, killing teo children.”

“The Islamic State mobilized its members in Zawya area and attacked security forces that repulsed their offensive,” Dawdah added.

“The extremist group also strengthened its positions north of the province, while security forces imposed a curfew in the area due to the attack,” he further added.

Earlier today, members of the Islamic state tried to sneak into Sharqat and cut Mosul-Tikrit road, but the attack was foiled by security forces.

Iraqi forces repel ISIS attack in Baiji

Salahuddin (IraqiNews.com) Mayor of Baiji District in Salahuddin Province, Mohamed al-Jabouri, announced on Monday, that security forces repulsed a violent attack launched by the Islamic State’s militants on a village, north of the district.

Jabouri said in a statement, “Security forces repelled a violent attack launched by the Islamic State’s militants on Mohamed al-Mousa village, in northern the district.”

“The clashes are still ongoing,” Jabouri added.

Al-Hashd al-Shaabi forces managed in October 19, 2015, to liberate the district of Baiji, north of Salahuddin, and expelled members of the Islamic State of it.

More Iraqi reinforcement pour into Baiji

Salahuddin (IraqiNews.om) A security source in Salahuddin province revealed, that large military reinforcements, backed by Army Aviation, arrived in the district of Baiji, to deter the attacks launched by the Islamic state, north of the Province, Alsumaria reported on Monday.

“Extra military troops arrived in the district, at noon today, to deter the attacks launched by the Islamic state, north of Baiji,” the source told Alsumaria News.

“Army Aviation also will participate in the repulsion of the Islamic State’s attack,” the source added.

Earlier today, Mayor of Baiji announced repulsing a violent attack launched by the Islamic State on Mohamed al-Mousa village, north of Baiji.
