But at its heart is the demand for equal rights for women after an election that saw the defeat of Democrat Hillary Clinton, the first female presidential nominee of a major party.

A girlfriend of mine talked about going on that march. She retired last year as a division head at Mr. Wife's company, and has since busied herself consulting and doing good works, mostly along the lines of Girl Scouts and other efforts to help girls develop the skills to have successful technical careers like hers. She expressed puzzlement that the woman's march somehow ended up on the same day as the inauguration. |
