Man arrested over Gaibandha child rape
 [Dhaka Tribune] A 38-year-old man has been enjuggedYou have the right to remain silent... for raping an eight-year-old girl in the district’s Palashbari upazila, police say. The suspect, Md Jahurul Haque Islam, was detained from Srikhandi village in Hossainpur union on Thursday. Palashbari police’s Officer-in-Charge Mujibur Rahman said the victim went to Jahurul’s grocery shop at the Shishudoho junction of Palashbari-Ghoraghat road in the afternoon. "He took the child inside the shop promising to give her candies and forced himself on the eight-year-old," Mujibur said. Police went to the spot and detained Jahurul after locals informed police about the incident. "The man has confessed to raping the child," the OC said.
