Shaboobs ambush KDF soldiers in Somalia
The Al Qaeda-linked Al-Shabaab militants have attacked a Kenya Defence Force (KDF) convoy in Gedo region in the south-western Somalia. The Al shabaab fighters were reportedly attacked the KDF convoy at Busar near near the border town of El Wak in Gedo region. Several Kenyan soldiers died in the ambush raid.Meanwhile, the local residents of Busaar area said they heard gunfire and explosions as the two sides exchanged RPGs and machine guns during the fighting. There were reports that a number of Al shabaab fighters lost their lives in the attack, which has sparked a deadly exchange of gunfire that broke out following the surprise assault.
