ISIS executes 5 in Mosul

Nineveh (IraqiNews.com) An Iraqi army officer revealed on Monday that the Islamic State group executed five civilians in western Mosul for trying to escape toward the eastern side of the city.

Lieutenant Nayef al-Zubaidi said in a press statement, “Intelligence information declared that the Islamic State group executed five civilians for trying to flee from western Mosul toward the eastern side of the city.”

“The execution was carried out near the fifth bridge’s tunnel, in the presence of the extremist group’s leaders,” Zubaid added.

Furthermore, Islamic State called on the residents of western Mosul, through loud speakers, to practice fishing in the Tigris River to fight hunger, activist Lukman Omar Ta’i declared.

Ta’i said that the group called on for this solution after the spread of hunger among civilians in western Mosul.

Civilian refuses to pay tax, stabs ISIS officials

Nineveh (IraqiNews.com) A local source in Nineveh Province revealed that a civilian refused to pay the so-called the caliphate tax then stabbed one of the Islamic State group’s members, in the center of Tal Afar market, west of Mosul, before being killed by the group’s members, Alsumaria News reported on Monday.

The source said, “A civilian refused to pay an extra tax, known as the caliphate support tax, which was imposed by the Islamic State group on shops’ owners in Tal Afar market, west of Mosul, then stabbed a militant from the extremist group with a knife.”

“The members of the Islamic State shot the civilian, killing him immediately amid popular unrest,” the source added on condition of anonymity.

The source also explained that the Islamic State duplicated the imposed tax on shops’ owners, to pay its members’ salaries.
