Bombs target Bai Hassan oilfield in Kirkuk, 3 casualties
[Iraq News] Explosion hit a minor pipeline in Bai Hassan oilfield, close to the northern Iraqi city of Kirkuk,... a thick stew of Arabs, Turkmen, Kurds, and probably Antarcticans, all of them mutually hostile most of the time... Kirkuk Police Chief Sarhad Qadir said on Saturday. "An kaboom took place near a pipeline in Bai Hassan oilfield, this morning, causing a fire. Firefighters are trying to put out the blaze," Qadir said. "One member of the Kurdish security forces was killed, while two others were maimed when three more bombs went kaboom!in the area of the first blast," a Kurdish security member said. The pipeline delivers crude from the oilfield to a station in Kirkuk, though pumping had been halted for maintenance at the time of the blasts, security sources and officials at the state-run North Oil Company said.
