Defense voulnteer gunned down in southern Thailand
[Bangkok Post] A village defense volunteer was killed by gunmen who entered his grocery store in Yala province on Monday night. Eyewitnesses said he was murdered about 8 p.m. in Raman district. Turaki Madimong, 47, a defense volunteer, was killed by two young men who arrived on a motorcycle, walked into the shop and ordered a bag of ice. While Turaki was scooping ice into a bag for them, the two each pulled out a pistol and shot him at point-blank range. Turaki was hit four times, in the head and body, dying at the scene.
