Mortars hit near Somali Presidential Palace, 2 hurt
A salvo of mortars targeting Somalia’s presidential palace in Mogadishu landed on a nearby neighbourhoods on Thursday, a day after a new cabinet was approved and sworn-in.According to sources, two mortar rounds landed inside the Palace, while the rest struck a residential area in Wardhigley district. Reports said at least two people were wounded in the mortar shelling. Somali security forces have cordoned off the scene and subsequently began an investigation into the incident.
