Shaboobs retakes town vacated by Somali forces
 Al-Shabaab militants have retaken a key district near Baidoa, the regional capital of Baay province on Sunday from Somali troops after a brief gunfight. Heavily armed Al Shabaab fighters with militants vehicles had dislodged the National Army (SNA) soldiers from Goofgaduud town, which lies just 30KM north of Baidoa city.“The Somali Government troops pulled out of the town and Al-Shabaab militants entered and secured control after attack,” said a resident who spoke to Radio Shabelle by phone. The Al Qaida-linked Al shabaab fighters hoisted their black banner on the top buildings and implored residents to inform them their comeback, according to the anonymous resident. Somali troops who vacated Goofgaduud retreated back to a nearby area outside Baidoa, where reports say they are planning a new counter-attack to regain control of the village.
