Both the president and the prime minister welcomed the Imam-e-Ka’aba and said Pakistain and Saudi Arabia were brotherly countries and their people had great religious and cultural relations. Relations between the two countries had become closer and stronger, they added.

They said Islam is the religion of peace and called for making concerted efforts to remove misconceptions about it.

President Hussain called for establishing an international group, comprising Ulema and religious scholars who should present the true picture of Islam in order to arrest the trend of extremism, said a blurb.

He said the people and the government of Pakistain had great regard for Saudi Arabia which had always supported Pakistain on all important issues at regional and international forums, including the kingdom’s support to Pakistain on the Kashmire dispute.
