Police officials said that two constables were on way back to police lines after participating in a search operation in the jurisdiction of University cop shoppe, when suspected bandidos snuffies opened fire and lobbed hand grenades at the cops, injuring them.

Other members of the police party cordoned off the area and started a search operation to trace the attackers. During the search, police personnel and the bandidos snuffies came across and shot it out, in which two attackers were killed. Identity of the outlaws could not be known.

The maimed police officials were taken to the district headquarters hospital, Dera. They were identified as Wilayat and Javed.
