25 militants surrender in Herat province
At least 25 insurgents renounced violence in western Herat province and joined the peace process, local officials said on Wednesday.The insurgents joined the peace process after a 20 day clash with the security forces in Balcheragh district of the province, provincial governor, Sayed Anwar Sadat said. “They (insurgents) worked under the command of Mullah Paigul who also surrendered himself to security forces,” he said.
