Islamic State prepares its defensive line in western Daraa

A new batch of pictures released by the ISIS franchise group Jaish Khalid ibn al-Walid on Wednesday shows its fighters monitoring rebel forward positions and setting up trenches in the region. The ISIS group said its holy warriors were on high alert around Nawa, a large rebel-held town on the outskirts of the Islamic State enclave. Should its first line of defense collapse, Jaish Khalid ibn al-Walid is able to fall back to its rearguard defenses along the February frontline. Rebel forces have been unable to break through this region ever since the ISIS Death Eaters defected in 2014. Apart from being anchored on the border with Israel and Jordan, Jaish Khalid ibn al-Walid rose to fame over enforcing brutal sharia punishments on its population, including chopping off hands and feet.
