UAE Armed Forces say Houthi rebels targeted a medical aid ship off coast of Yemen
 [NEWS.XINHUANET] The United Arab Emirates (UAE) Armed Forces General Command said on Thursday that a UAE ship carrying medical aid had been hit by a rocket attack launched by Shiite al-Houthi ...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The Yemeni government has accused the Houthis of having ties to the Iranian government, which wouldn't suprise most of us. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews... militia off the Yemeni port of Mukha, Emirati state news agency WAM news agency reported. "The rebel Houthi militias fired a missile at a United Arab Emirates aid ship carrying medical equipment while departing from the Yemeni port of al-Mokha," the General Command of the UAE Armed Forces said in a statement on Thursday. The attack caused no damage to the vessel, but left one crew member injured, added the General Command, affirming that it is following up and tracking down those behind the attack. The UAE command reiterated its warning against "the danger posed by the Houthi belligerent activities and arms smuggling on the safety of international navigation in this vital part of the world." The statement called upon the international community to exercise more pressures on the Houthi militias to comply with UN Security Council Resolution No 2216 on prevention of such "criminal activities." The UAE has been delivering urgent medical assistance to a number of governorates in Yemen ...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of. Except for a tiny handfull of Jews everthing there is very Islamic... to help contain the cholera outbreak.
