Al shabaab fires mortar rounds at AMISOM base in Jalalaqsi
[SHABELLENEWS] Al-Shabaab...  Somalia's version of the Taliban, functioning as an arm of al-Qaeda...bully boyz have fired mortar rounds at AMISOM military base in Jalalaqsi town, located in Somalia’s central region of Hiiraan on Thursday, residents said. Madobe Nur, the deputy commissioner of Jalalaqsi has confirmed to Radio Shabelle the Al shabaab mortar attack, saying some of the shells landed inside the AU military camp. Nur stated that the bully boyz launched the attack on Djibouti-an peacekeepers, serving with AMISOM from Al shabaab controlled area, located in the outskirts of the district. There was no any casualties on both AU forces and the civilians as result of the mortar shelling by Al shabaab, a turban group fighting to oust the UN-backed Somali government. The government troops, long with African Union ...a union consisting of 53 African states, most run by dictators of one flavor or another. The only all-African state not in the AU is Morocco. Established in 2002, the AU is the successor to the Organisation of African Unity (OAU), which was even less successful... soldiers launched an operation on Thursday morning, in an attempt to thwart another Al-Shabaab attack on the town.
