Heavy fighting continues in Parwan
Local officials in northern Parwan said on Thursday that Taliban attacked security check posts in Seyagerd district of the province and that clashes are ongoing.The attacks started early Thursday after dozens of Taliban insurgents attacked the check posts and clashed with the forces, a police official in Dar-e-Ghorband area of Seyagerd, Mohammad Haroon Mubarez said. “The Taliban will be defeated in their attack and they don’t have the capacity to fight us,” Mubarez said. However, he did not provide further details about the clashes nor casualties. In the meantime, a number of motorists have said that the Parwan-Bamiyan highway has been closed to traffic due to ongoing clashes. However, the Taliban have not yet commented over the clash.
