Woman killed for not bearing son
A mother of two girls was beaten to death by her in-laws for failing to give birth to a son, in Manawan police precincts on Wednesday. Muhammad Majeed of Sharifpura got his daughter Kausar married to neighbour Muhammad Waris. The couple had two daughters, but Mr Waris's desire for a son led to escalating fights. On Wednesday after a fight, Waris, younger brother Muhammad Tariq, mother Irshad and sister Asma beat Kausar with metal rods. The body was sent for an autopsy. Police arrested all four attackers and registered a case.
