JI sets deadline for expelling Myanmar ambassador
 [DAWN] Jamaat-e-Islami... The Islamic Society, founded in 1941 in Lahore by Maulana Sayyid Abul Ala Maududi, aka The Great Apostosizer. The Jamaat opposed the independence of Bangladesh but has operated an independentbranch there since 1975. It maintains close ties with international Mohammedan groups such as the Moslem Brotherhood. the Taliban, and al-Qaeda. The Jamaat's objectives are the establishment of a pure Islamic state, governed by Sharia law. It is distinguished by its xenophobia, and its opposition to Westernization, capitalism, socialism, secularism, and liberalist social mores... chief Senator Sirajul Haq ...current head of the Pak Jamaat-e-Islami. Siraj was born in 1962 and entered politics shortly after that... here on Thursday set 24 hours deadline to the government to expel the ambassador of Myanmar otherwise his party workers would storm "red zone" in Islamabad. "If the government does not expel Myanmar’s ambassador till Friday, our workers will cross the red zone," a statement quoted Senator Sirajul Haq as saying while addressing a function of women. He said that JI had planned to stage protest rally outside Myanmar embassy after Friday prayers to show solidarity with Rohingya Moslems, who were fleeing their country. He said that Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal requested him not to cross the red zone.
