12 die in Kandahar suicide bombing attack
At least 12 security forces were killed in a suicide bombing in southern Kandahar province on Wednesday night, local officials confirmed on Thursday.In addition, four other insurgents were wounded. The attack took place in Maroof district of the province after a suicide bomber driving a Humvee vehicle targeted a security forces base in the center of the district, a spokesman for the provincial police chief, Zia Durani said. “National, border policemen and NDS employees are among the dead,” Durni said. However, he did not provide further details. The Taliban has claimed responsibility for the attack.
