Roadside bomb kills Thai ranger
 [Bangkok Post] A roadside bomb explosion killed a paramilitary ranger on patrol and seriously injured his colleague in Narathiwat province, police said Monday. The incident adds to the army's growing concern over the safety of its officers. Some are calling for use of unmanned drones to replace human patrols in some high-risk areas. The latest attack broke out in the early morning when a group of eight paramilitary rangers, were on patrol in Bacho district. The officers were riding on four motorcycles when the bomb went off. One motorcycle was hit by the blast. Shrapnel killed ranger Anant Wichienthong, who was a pillion rider. His driver fell five meters away and and suffered serious shrapnel injuries.
