Family Freed From Afghan Hostages Refusing to Return to US
[Townhall] The White House announced the negotiated release of an American woman and her family Thursday, all of whom had been held hostage in Afghanistan by the Taliban-linked Haqqani network since 2012. Caitlin Coleman, 32, was traveling with her Canadian husband in Afghanistan when they were kidnapped. She was pregnant at the time and had two more children in captivity. "Today they are free. This is a positive moment for our country's relationship with Pakistan," President Trump said in a statement. "The Pakistani government's cooperation is a sign that it is honoring America's wishes for it to do more to provide security in the region."
