Melbourne man charged with supporting a senior Islamic State terrorist
The 43-year-old, Isa Kocoglu, who is on a disability allowance, has appeared in Melbourne Magistrate’s Court charged with supporting persons engaged in the Syrian conflict. It is alleged he gave about $5000 to a US citizen fighting for Islamic State in Syria. His arrest follows an investigation by members of the Victorian Joint Counter Terrorism Team (JCTT), which includes officers from the Australian Federal Police, ASIO, and Victoria Police.
