Thai ranger caring for sick mom gunned down
[Bangkok Post] A ranger volunteer taking leave to care for his sick mother was gunned down outside his house in Narathiwat province early on Sunday night. Subae Waeyeengo was hit by two bullets in front of his home in Cho Airong district. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Security forces sent to the scene on Sunday night were unable to find evidence pointing to the killer. Subae had taken leave from his outpost to visit his sick mother at this home. He was walking outside the house, taking a break, when the killer shot him. Neighbours who heard the shots found him lying on the ground grievously injured.

Police have attributed the attack to insurgents.
