Kurds protest Iraqi bill legalizing child marriages
[RUDAW.NET] The Civil Development Organization protested on Sunday a proposed amendment of an Iraqi law that allows girls as young as 9 to get married.Some human rights ...which are usually open to widely divergent definitions... and women advocacy organizations in Kurdistan participated in the gathering in Sulaimani too. The organizers of the event submitted a letter to the presidencies of Iraq demanding that the law not be amended, saying it would be sectarian in nature and against human rights.
