2 more US airstrikes hit ISIS targets in Libya
By Libya Herald reporter.Tunis, 21 November 2017: The US Africa Command (Africom) has carried out two more air strikes on Islamic State (IS) militants. According to a statement today, they took place last week, on 17 and 19 November. Both strike occurred near the desert town of Fugaha, some 230 kilometres north-east of Sebha. Although the main American air campaign against the IS ended with the liberation of Sirte last year, Africom has continued occasional strikes, the most recent being two in late September. “We are committed to maintaining pressure on the terror network and preventing them from establishing safe haven, an Africom statement read. It added that the US would not give up on destroying terrorist organisations in the region and that is goal was a reconstituted Libyan state “at peace internally and able to address all threats within its territory”.
