Two hurt by bomb targeting troops in southern Thailand
[Bangkok Post] A defense volunteer and a female civilian were slightly hurt when a buried bomb targeting troops on two armored vehicles exploded on a road in Narathiwat province. The blast happened in Cho Airong district on Thursday morning.

The two armored vehicles were taking eight soldiers to a school where they were to counsel students against involvement with illicit drugs. The bomb was concealed in a drainage pipe under the road and exploded between the two vehicles as they passed over it. No soldiers were injured. However, a defense volunteer and a woman selling gasoline at a roadside stall received minor injuries from shrapnel.

Police blamed southern insurgents.
