 Policeman “seriously injured” in shooting incident west of Baghdad Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) A policeman was seriously injured in a shooting incident west of Baghdad on Wednesday, a security source told Baghdad Today. “Unidentified gunmen in a car opened fire at a police officer of the Justice Ministry’s prisons protection sector in the area between Ghazaliya and Abu Ghraib neighborhoods west of Baghdad, leaving him in a pool of blood,” the source said. The injured cop was carried to a nearby hospital, sustaining severe injuries, the source added. Five people injured in bomb blast near Baghdad market Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Five people were injured in a bomb blast in Baghdad on Wednesday, a security source told Baghdad Today. “An explosive charge planted near a market at al-Wehda (unity) district south of the Iraqi capital went off in the wee hours of Wednesday, leaving five people injured,” the source said. “Security forces cordoned off the blast site and a probe was launched to gather information about the bombing,” the source said. The injured were carried to a nearby hospital for treatment, he added. Bomb explosion leaves two people injured in Baghdad Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Two people were injured in a bomb blast in Baghdad on Wednesday, a security source told Alghad Press. “An explosive charge planted near a market at the Taji Beach area north of Baghdad exploded, leaving two persons injured,” the source said. “A security force cordoned off the blast site, while the injured were carried to a nearby hospital for treatment,” he added.
